Sarah
Sarah was born in Edmonton and moved to Drayton Valley when she was 11. She graduated from Frank Maddock High School in 2018. Went on to attend MacEwan University for a Bachelor of Science degree with a Major in Physical Sciences. Unfortunately the coronavirus had other plans for Sarah. Now she's back in Drayton Valley and has found a love for teaching. This new love has inspired a career change, and Sarah is currently getting her Bachelor of Science degree with a Major in Applied Mathematics, and is planning on getting her Bachelor of Education in order to become a High School Math Teacher.
Sarah loves tutoring and has found one of her true passions. One of her favourite parts about tutoring is seeing her students light up when they finally understand a concept that they have been struggling with for potentially years. She seems to explain Math concepts in a way that anyone can understand!
In early January 2022, Sarah took on the leader role here at Infinity Learning. So far she is loving every minute and can't wait to help out more students in the future!
"In class it seems complicated. But when you explain it, it all makes sense!" - One of Sarah's students
Mary
Mary grew up on a farm by Buck Mountain. She finished high school in Breton and then went to the University of Alberta for a Bachelor of Education with a major at the elementary level with a minor in Special Education. Once Mary had married she moved back to Drayton. Her husband started Gillian Trucking while she worked in the elementary schools as a resource room teacher, and then a Grade 1/2/3 classroom teacher. Mary has 2 grown kids and 4 grandchildren who she absolutely adores spending time with. She loves gardening, dancing, reading and curling!
In 2019 Mary retired after 33 years of teaching experience. Now she loves to spend her free time helping young kids with their speech, reading and writing!
"I believe in a 'Yes I can' attitude and can provide children I tutor gain confidence in their skills"
Carmen
Carmen grew up in Stony Plain and moved to Edmonton after graduating from Memorial Composite High School. She graduated from MacEwan University in 2007 and has had an active career in her field for 15 years. Over time Carmen has worked with a wide age range of clients ranging from 18 months - 14 years of age. Carmen & her family recently moved to Drayton Valley & are really enjoying getting to know what the community has to offer.
When she’s not working or spending time with her family, she enjoys yoga, listening to music and podcasts.
“I truly enjoy witnessing the children I work with succeed, watching their face light up as their confidence around communication builds is so rewarding.”
